Shelf 8 - 5 Brighouse U13B - 25/10/09

Driving rain and high winds were a strong feature in this match. Shelf were strong from the start and made a good attack, James Worsfold dealt with it and cleared well, Connor Freeth made his first attempt at Shelf's goal.

Shelf counter attack ,but the ball is well cleared by Joe Sedgewick. An excellent cross from Archie Ingham gives Tyler Stephenson the first goal for Brighouse. Shelf pick up and make an attempt which is very well saved by Josh Heath. Strong winds don't help Brighouse, when a pass back to goal results in an own goal. Brighouse keep confidence and a well judged cross from Tyler Stephenson gives Connor Freeth the second goal for Brighouse. Shelf come back and make a good attempt, well saved by Josh Heath. Shelf attack again to equalise.

Second half sees some excellent attempts at goal by Ryan Loben, Matthew Needham and Declan O'Reilly. Shelf counter attack and score two goals in quick succession. A mistake by Shelfs goal keeper allows Tyler Stephenson to almost walk a goal in to the opposition's net.

Shelf come back strong with another three goals. Some good teamwork for Archie Merrils and Ben Cronshaw give Ethan Deal the fourth goal, followed by an excellent goal from Tom Safdari. Shelf come back and score the final goal of the match.



Norristhorpe 0 - 8 Brighouse U13B - 18/10/09

First win to nil in 50 games, off to a brilliant start for Brighouse when a Brighouse corner taken by Ethan Deal finds Tyler Stephenson to give Brighouse their first goal. Norristhorpe have possession briefly before Tyler Stephenson shows some excellent skill to score a second goal well within the first five minutes of play.

Norristhorpe keep their heads up and attempt an attack, but it is well covered by Lloyd Coulthurst. Ethan Deal crosses well for Archie Ingham to make a fantastic attempt which just skims the crossbar. Brighouse gain possession and some tactical teamwork gives Connor Freeth a well executed goal.

Norristhorpe not giving up, go on the attack and make an attempt, unsuccessful, Brighouse counter attack win a corner, a fantastic ball in from James Worsfold sees Ethan Deal score another goal for Brighouse from his knee. Brighouse keep the pressure on with an attempt by Connor Freeth. Norristhorpe counter attack, but Will Siddal clears the ball.

Second Half - Norristthorpe start off with an attack, but a good clearance by Archie Ingham is picked up by Ethan Deal to score a fifth goal for Brighouse. Norristhorpe attack once more, but a series of well directed headers from Joe Sedgewick and Tom Safdari gives Tyler Stephenson the opportunity for his hatrick and a sixth goal for Brighouse.

Norristhorpe do not have the ball for long before a brilliant tackle and cross from Tom Safdari gives Ethan Deal his hatrick and a senenth goal for Brighouse. Norristhorpe on the attack and make a convincing attempt at goal, brilliantly saved by Louis Bamford to maintain a clean sheet. In the last few minutes Tyler Stephenson makes a well skilled run to make the final goal.



Brighouse U13B v Silkstone 27/09/09

Brighouse off to a dubious start when Silkstone win a penalty for a hand ball, well saved by Josh. Brighouse have possession after a great tackle from Archie Ingham, Brighouse hold well and maintain excellent teamwork. A Silkstone throw in leads to an attack which is well defended by Ryan and Joe. Brighouse throw in and Ethan performs a well judged throw which is received well by Archie I, which allows a fantastic opening goal for Brighouse by Connor. Silkstone take possession and level up with their first goal. Silkstone attack again, saved by Josh.

Silkstone have possession after a throw in by Brighouse, but are well tackled by Tom and then well cleared out of the goal area by Lloyd. Consecutive attacks from Silkstone sees Ryan holding well in defence, crossing the ball to Joe, the ball is well cleared, which Tyler picks up and runs with it to score Brighouse’s 2nd goal. Silkstone gain possession and attack, saved on the line by Josh.

The second half starts with an attack by Silkstone, well saved by Josh. A tackle by Ethan provides Tyler an opportunity to run with the ball and score 3rd goal. Silkstone have possession and come with a strong attack and score their 2nd goal, quickly followed by another. Brighouse come back strong and a corner leads to an attempt by Connor. Some good teamwork shown by Connor, Tyler and Archie M helps Brighouse to keep the pressure on. Silkstone gain possession following a Brighouse throw in followed by an attack, to score their 4th goal.

Silkstone looking confident attack again, but are well defended by Ryan. Following a Brighouse corner, Connor equalises with an excellent 4th goal for Brighouse. An excellent kick from Will keeps the pressure on from Brighouse, Silkstone have possession but not for long as Archie M goes in for a fantastic tackle, crosses to James who receives well and kicks down, to allow some brilliant teamwork from Connor and Tyler to allow Tom to score the winning goal for Brighouse.



Brighouse U13 B v Marsden 04/10/09

Brighouse had quite a task ahead of them as Marsden have already scored 17 goals this season. Some good team work provided Connor with the opportunity to score the first goal of the match. Marsden gain possession and attack, the ball just slips out of Louis B’s hands to give Marsden their first opportunity to score.

A brilliant cross from Ethan to Tom results in an attempt at goal. Marsden counter attack and score their second goal. Brighouse win a penalty, which is taken by Ethan, but well saved by Marsden. Archie M executes a superb cross to Tom, who makes an attempt, the ball is quickly found by Ethan to score Brighouse’s second goal.

The start of the second half and Marsden attack, well saved by Louis. A fantastic cross from Ethan to Connor leads to an attempt. Another well executed cross from Archie M gives Connor the opportunity to score third goal for Brighouse. In quick succession Connor scores another two goals. Marsden attack and make a further attempt before scoring their third goal. Marsden on the attack again but Lewis F, Ryan and Will defend well. Some excellent Tackling by Declan, James and Ben, ensures Brighouse possession.
