Warley U15s - 3 vs Brighouse U15s - 7
FLYING START FOR BRIGHOUSE
Brighouse started the new season in impressive
style with an emphatic win over a well organised Warley side. The opening exchanges were pretty even,
with neither side creating too many clear cut chances.
Brighouse opened the scoring on fifteen minutes, when Jack Johnstone
smashed home an unstoppable shot from all of 35 yards out, after good
link up play by Daniel Addy and Jordan Fulton.
From this point Brighouse were in total control and extended there lead
after good work by Adam Cronin and Matthew Wood set up Jason Taylor
who finished well with a good shot.
Minutes later Brighouse went even further in front. A long ball from
Jimmy Sweeney, put Fulton away down the right hand side, it looked like
a lost cause as the keeper came to collect what looked like an easy
pick up, but Fulton never gave up, and managed to win the ball, and
finish well from an acute angle to make it 3-0.
Warley then had a good opportunity to get back in the game , but a good
save from keeper Danny Jeffcock kept the three goal advantage.
Brighouse then went four up, Matthew Kilby playing a good ball into
the path of Taylor who finished well with a well struck long range effort.
Goal number five followed early in the second half, when Fulton was
once again on hand to finish a good with a close range shot that left
the Warley keeper no chance.
Brighouse then seemed to think the job was finished and took their foot
of the pedal. This allowed Warley to grow in confidence, and they struck
back with three good goals without reply to make the score 5-3. However
just as it looked like Warley were going to stage a miraculous comeback,
Brighouse once again took control. Kieran Baker this time, finishing
with a low shot after good work by Thomas Bedford.
Brighouse then killed the game completely, with goal number seven. Jordan
Fulton completing his hat trick with a well timed effort.
This was a very good opening display
from Brighouse, who now have a home game this coming Sunday against
Thornhill at Hove Edge.
Goals :- Jordan Fulton 3 Jason Taylor 2 Jack Johnstone 1 Kieran Baker 1
